As sales of so-called “street art” continue to drive sales in the underground art market with monied London-based collectors seemingly drunk at the wheel, Manhattan gallerist JONATHAN LEVINE has imported an impressive array of artists to the new world for his “The Streets of Europe” group show opening this Saturday nite in Chelsea. Featuring new work by Supertouch blogger D*FACE, legendary stencil art pioneer BLEK LE RAT, BLU, MICROBO, BO 130, and SPACE INVADER, the show is a nice primer for the uninitiated looking to play a bit of catch up on their Street Knowledge and get an early start on burning through that Christmas bonus that never seems to be enough.
